How Conto works
What's the workflow from group creation to final settlement?
Five steps. The organizer creates a group, adds participants by name, logs every shared expense as it happens, and at the end Conto computes one number per person to send the treasurer. Participants never sign up.
- 1
Create a group
The organizer signs up, creates a group, names it, and adds each participant by name. Participants don't need accounts.
- 2
Set the buy-in (optional)
If you're collecting a flat amount up front (common for bachelor parties), record what each person paid in. Conto tracks the float.
- 3
Log every shared expense
As the trip or month unfolds, the treasurer logs each shared expense in seconds. Pick which participants it covers (default: everyone).
- 4
Review the running tally
Share the public group link with the group at any time. They see what's been spent and what they owe so far. No login, no app.
- 5
Settle up
When the group is done, Conto computes one number per participant. They send it to the treasurer. Done.
This works particularly well for bachelor parties, group trips, and roommate bills. If your group has multiple people fronting money in parallel, see how Conto compares to Splitwise or Splid.
